Rigdon Marine Christens First 4000 Class PSV
On Thursday, June 7, 2007, the company’s second Rigdon 4000 Class platform support vessel (PVS) was launched by Bollinger Shipyards in Lockport, Louisiana. The Double Eagle like its sister vessels, is a 190 x 46 x 18 ft., diesel electric, DP-2 PSV, which features a capacity of 4,000 barrels of liquid mud in an oval, self cleaning, segregated tank system. The PSV will also include three x Z-Drives and two x large forward tunnel thrusters. The Rigdon 4000 Class PSVs are capable of serving a wide array of marine applications in all water depths.
The First and Ten is scheduled to deliver in late July 2007, and the Double Eagle is expected to enter service in late September 2007. The remaining eight Rigdon 4000 class PSVs will be delivered in approximate 45 day intervals during 2007 and through the third quarter of 2008.
