Grand Bahamas Shipyard has announced this week a two pronged program to attain certification to International Standards. The company has embarked upon the process of certification to the ISO 9001 Quality Standard and the ISO 14001 Environmental Standard, both regarded as standards in their fields. The certification process is being assessed by Lloyd’s Register Quality Assurance, Inc. in both fields and is being observed by the Bahamas Environment, Science and Technology Commission. CEO Chris Millman said “ This is a very important step for us and it marks another important milestone in the development of the company. It demonstrates our determination to offer the highest possible quality of service to our customers whilst maintaining the most stringent environmental controls within our operations.”
