DNV GL Certificates Support Envision

Maritime Activity Reports, Inc.

November 21, 2016

DNV GL has issued full type certificates for Envision’s 2.3 MW turbine EN115-2.3. and 3.0 MW turbine EN120-3.0. This is an important milestone for the smart energy solution provider to compete in international wind energy markets.

These certificates confirm that both turbines comply with all the requirements of the global IEC 61400-22 standard ensuring safety and reliability of wind turbines and wind farms.

Due to large investments in the wind industry, financing banks, insurance companies and authorities require reliability and safety assessments of wind energy projects.

The full type certificates are a key step for Envision to give their customers the confidence that they have high quality turbines ready for international markets.

“We are very pleased to receive the certification from DNV GL, as it demonstrates our product quality as well as our commitment to the markets and our clients. Both of the certified turbines were installed in our Eskilstuna wind farm in Sweden to showcase our wind turbine portfolio,“ Says Lei Zhang, CEO of Envision Energy, “Envision plans to continue expanding into the international markets and we are working on type certificates for additional turbines to support this growth. This is only the first step of our journey.“

“Especially for upcoming wind turbine companies, a type certificate issued by an independent third party like DNV GL can act as door opener to international wind energy projects,“ says Kim Mørk, Executive Vice President for Renewables Certification at DNV GL.

Kim added: “During our continuous good collaboration over the last 5 years, Envision has proven a steep learning curve which deservedly enabled them to step up as one of the top 10 manufacturers worldwide today.”
