Cardinal Companies International, headquartered in Alvin, Texas, has launched Cardinal Marine to provide ship repair and dockside services, offering 24/7 marine services for topside repairs with the capability to deliver support and services world-wide.

The company says it mobilizes its crews to meet clients where it’s most convenient for them to berth and perform any repairs and services on-site at local ports throughout the Gulf of Mexico.  This service alone initially saves the customer time and money before any services are performed.

Cardinal Marine specializes in mobilizations and demobilizations of OSV’s, OCV’s and Seismic Vessels, but without the large overheads of a shipyard facility, the company says that it is able to offer clients a very competitive price for repairs and services. Cardinal’s mobile platform and support organization enables its crews to perform the largest or smallest of tasks that are required where it is logistically most beneficial to its clients.

Cardinal Marine’s management team has a combined 100 years ship repair and operations experience and decades of successful projects.  This team is led by Vice President of Operations Captain Jon Calder, alumnae of Massachusetts Maritime Academy with a graduate degree in Ocean Systems Management from MIT.

Also coming aboard Cardinal is Galveston native Stuart Smith serving as Executive Vice President.  Stuart’s brother Sherwin Smith also has joined the team as a Project Superintendent. “The Smith brothers spent over half of their lives in the repair sector and with Captain Jon bring a lot of Maritime experience to the table. We couldn’t be happier to welcome them to the Cardinal Family” says Mike Robinson, President & CEO of Cardinal Companies International.
