Port Of Canaveral Adds New Directors

Continued growth and organizational restructuring has prompted the Canaveral Port Authority to add three new staff directors, including two newly created positions. Margi Starkey, the former Assistant Director of Finance, has been promoted to the new position of Director of Accounting. She will assist the Chief Financial Officer and oversee the installation and implementation of a new accounting system. Starkey has been employed with the Canaveral Port Authority for 10 years. Jerry Simon, the former Chief of Security, has been promoted to the new position of Director of Security in a reorganization of the Operations Department. Simon will run the Port's Security staff, which is responsible for badging and closed circuit television monitoring. He also will oversee Emergency Services, Hurricane Preparedness, and the Port's contracts with the Fire and Sheriff's departments. Simon has been employed with the Canaveral Port Authority for 15 years. Mark Blake, a former construction engineer with the North Carolina State Port Authority, joins the staff as the new Director of Construction. He replaces Richard Lombroia, who was promoted to the Port's Chief of Engineering. "We are fortunate to have such qualified employees to help Port Canaveral handle our significant growth and increasing responsibilities," says Malcolm "Mac" McLouth, Executive Director of the Canaveral Port Authority. "
