MSC: Bringing Asia to Northern France
The Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) provides a range of shipping services between France and the world’s major trade hubs. Since its foundation in 1993, MSC France has scaled up into a 675,000 TEU per annum business.
MSC France now has a team of more than 500 employees across its offices in Paris, Bordeaux, Brest, Dunkerque, Lyon, Marseille, Montoir, Rouen and Le Havre.
MSC has operated out of Le Havre since 1993, where the port’s geographical strategic importance for customers has fuelled significant phases of growth and investment from MSC. This has included the development of a dedicated Le Havre office and a home terminal (TNMSC). At this terminal, MSC enjoys priority berthing for a modern fleet of ultra-large containerships. The port also provides a regular feeder service to Montoir (three-day transit). The shipper’s Le Havre office is now home to more than 175 staff.
MSC said it is one of the few carriers to offer direct services between Far East and Le Havre, with its ALBATROS service offering transits from China, South Korea and Malaysia to Le Havre, as well as connections to Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam and Japan.
The service’s port rotation is as follows: Dalian, Busan, Qingdao, Ningbo, Shanghai, Xiamen, Yantian, Tanjung Pelepas, Algeciras, Le Havre, Rotterdam, Bremerhaven, Felixtowe.
