Bordelon Marine has taken delivery of the M/V Shelia Bordelon, its next Stingray 260 DP2, Ultra-Light Intervention Vessel (ULIV).
This highly specialized vessel features an NOV 50 ton Active Heave Compensating crane with 3,000 meters of wire, a mezzanine deck with internal office and control rooms, capable of supporting two full work class ROV systems. The M/V Shelia Bordelon offers 6,200 sq. ft. of clear useable deck space, POB of 60, and two independent thru-hull USBL systems. The vessel is also equipped with four additional below deck Tier 3 generators, providing fully redundant power to the crane and ROV systems.

The Shelia Bordelon also features a pink stripe and the Susan G. Komen logo. Named in honor of Shelia Harasimowicz, Wes Bordelon’s mother-in-law, and two time breast cancer survivor. Bordelon Marine has committed to a yearlong campaign to fight breast cancer. Bordelon Marine will donate a portion of the profits from the M/V Shelia Bordelon to the New Orleans affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
The Shelia Bordelon is a Stingray series 260 Class Ultra-Light Intervention Vessel. The Shelia Bordelon is 257’ x 52’x 18’ DP-2 with a clear deck of 235’ x 44’ (6,280 sqft) and a top speed of 15 knots. The Stingray features a 50 ton AHC with 3,000m of wire. The vessel is outfitted with a mezzanine deck capable of housing two work class ROVs. The vessels can accommodate up to 40 passengers and features an internal ROV office and control room.
The Stingray features Cummins QSK 60-M (Enviro friendly) Tier 3 main propulsion along with Schottel 1215, 220 hp per Z-Drives and Schottel STT2, 1020 hp per bow thrusters. All systems are fully automated and controlled from the bridge. The Stingray series are SOLAS classed, FIFI 1 ACCU, EEP 175, and Tier3 vessels.
