MTU Engines First Choice for Emirates Boatbuilder

MTU distributor Al Masaood and Arabian yacht builder Gulf Craft sign preferred partner agreement.

Under the agreement, the Arabian shipyard Gulf Craft will soon offer MTU Series 2000 and 4000 engines in its Majesty Yachts as its primary engine option. The agreement was signed by Gulf Craft and Al Masaood, a Tognum Group distributor for MTU engines in the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain, at this year’s Dubai International Boat Show.

The contract will extend through 2014 and provides more than 50 engines ranging from 8, 10, 12 and 16-cylinder units of Series 2000 to 12-cylinder engines of Series 4000.

 “This preferred partner agreement will allow us to strengthen our long-standing partnership and significantly expand our market share,” said Tognum Chief Sales Officer Dr. Michael Haidinger.

Located close to Dubai in the emirate of Umm al-Quwain, the Gulf Craft shipyard builds luxury yachts up to 50 meters in length and customizes them to individual customer specifications. These yachts have been powered by MTU engines for more than 20 years.
