Blue Danube Elects Monahan to BoD
Mike Monahan was elected to Blue Danube Incorporated’s Board of Directors on February 8, 2019. Blue Danube Incorporated is the holding company of Campbell Transportation Company Inc.
Michael J. Monahan joined Campbell Transportation Company (“Campbell”) as President in October of 2011. Campbell is a privately held company which is based in Houston, PA. Campbell and its subsidiaries employ approximately 300 employees, owns and manages over 1,100 barges and 40 to 50 towboats, 3 major shipyards, new construction facility, provides tank barge cleaning and repair services, tankerman service, has extensive fleeting operations and a crane service company. Campbell provides operational and shipyard service on the inland waterways of the United States. Campbell moves over 60 million tons of dry and liquid cargo annually on the inland waterway system.
Mike has held executive leadership positions in the marine transportation industry at McNational, Inc., American Commercial lines, TECO Barge Line and Midland Enterprises, Inc. over the last 30 years. Mike has been involved with sales management, business development, fleeting facility operations, shipyard operations, terminal operations, vessel safety and training programs and logistics. Prior to his marine experience Mike also held operations management positions at United Parcel Service.
Mike holds a Master in Business Administration from Xavier University and a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Cincinnati. Mike has also served on the Board of Directors for the American Waterways Operators, Waterways Council, Inc., ORSANCO and as Co-Chairman of the River Industry Executive Task Force. Mike was appointed to the Inland Waterways User Board in 2017. Most recently, Mike was elected to the Blue Danube Incorporated Board of Directors the holding company for Campbell Transportation, Inc.
