Barillec marine will be at the meeting of maritime and river economy in Paris at the Euromaritime - Eurowaterways professional exhibition with Interprofession du Port de Concarneau (IPC). As a player in the shipbuilding industry in the port of Concarneau, Barillec marine is part of a growth dynamic aiming at attracting talent, contributing to local economic development and expanding naval industry in export. The company intends to enhance and strengthen its expertise in power generation, distribution and energy storage. This expertise, know-how and understanding of the issues of its customers make it an innovation partner capable of developing a complete range of applications and services in response to the economic, energy and environmental challenges of the sector. Barillec marine, which has just won a new market in Vietnam with the shipyard Strategic Marine for a Dutch ship owner, is deploying this strategy internationally to accompany the development of the industry in a global economic environment.
From project engineering to ship operation and maintenance, Barillec marine strives to respond as closely as possible to the needs of ship owners and shipyards. Maritime and inland waterway transport, fishing, marine works and international navies are looking for solutions to improve efficiency, reduce fuel consumption and emissions of polluting gases. From several installations deployed on ships in service, and in a constant commitment to technical enhancement and usability, Barillec marine has developed several innovative concepts for propulsion and power generation: complete systems for power generation and electric propulsion for yachts or tuna purse-seiners, hybrid systems: VarShaft to improve the energy efficiency of fishing vessels or SmartShaft to optimize the performance of ocean patrol vessels. The company is currently working on new concepts of electric and hybrid propulsion and energy storage solutions related to the development of LNG or hydrogen, both in maritime and inland waterway transport.
Knowledge of the maritime environment and its evolutions stems from the proximity between Barillec marine and its customers. The feedback is based on the professionalism and listening of the field technicians during new installations and maintenance interventions, facilitated by the presence of Barillec marine on several sites. In France, Barillec marine has three establishments in Brittany, Concarneau, Lorient and Brest and is currently recruiting technicians to enlarge its team on site in Paris. The company is strengthening its presence in the river sector alongside its long-standing client Bateaux Parisiens. Since 2015, the company is also present in French Reunion Island where it develops a service and maintenance activity. In addition, with its presence in Vietnam, Barillec marine has a large network worldwide.
Based on its expertise and a team of more than 200 engineers and technicians deployed in France and internationally, Barillec strengthens its ability to respond to sizing projects to develop its export markets. Established for five years in Asia with its subsidiary Be Sea (Barillec marine Vietnam), Barillec Marine will double its activity in this area in the months to come. It has won a contract for Dutch shipowner Rederij Doeksen to build two ferries at the shipyard Strategic Marine Vietnam. The contract concerns the electrical installations of the two ROPAX LNG FERRIES of 72 meters. The studies have just begun at the Concarneau Design department. The team in Ho Chi Minh, which has about 20 technicians, supervised by a business manager, is also expected to double by mid-2017. From its site in Réunion Island established in 2016 at the arrival of the mega-barge Zourite which operates for the construction of the "Viaduc du Littoral", Barillec marine expands on the Indian Ocean especially during the technical stops of ships at the shipyard CNOI in Mauritius island.
At Euromaritime - Eurowaterways Barillec marine will exhibit its VarShaft prototype on the trade-show's innovation area. It will also present a ship-to-shore power supply system, a wireless camera system and a propulsion system control and monitoring panel developed for military vessels. During the "Ships and Electrical Solutions" day (February 2), Barillec Marine will take part in a conference on the topic of diesel-electric. Participating in the trade-show will also be the occasion to formalize the presence of Barillec marine in Ile de France and to strengthen the technical and commercial links with customers and partners. For Barillec, who will celebrate his 60th anniversary in 2017, this event offers the opportunity to meet all the players of the maritime world for future projects. Meet Barillec marine at the Euromaritime - Eurowaterways exhibition from January 31 to February 2, 2017 in Paris Expo, Porte de Versailles.
