Ocean Aero has designed a 'game-changing' ruggedized surface & sub-surface vessel: the "Submaran", powered by wind and solar, capable of several months at sea that can be deployed from land, sea or air. The designers will present it at the Blue Tech & Blue Economy Summit, November 7-8, 2013.

The "Submaran" will be delivered both as a system for purchase and as a part of a contracted System as a Service (SaaS) fleet of data gathering vessels that customers need not purchase or manage.

Ocean Aero epitomizes the next generation in unmanned ocean systems with the development of an autonomous, highly persistent, energy scavenging, wind/electric-unmanned vessels packaged in a small, man-portable configuration. The "Submaran", say Ocean Aero, is a new class of Unmanned Underwater, Surface Vessel (UUSV), that takes the best of both of surface and subsurface vessels and combines them into a completely new, transformable, self-propelling body, capable of missions in extreme conditions.
