DP World Australia Implement Navis TOS Operating System
DP World Australia completes next phase of TOS standardization & centralization with Navis N4 Go-Live in Melbourne, following on from successful implementations at Port of Botany & Fremantle, with a fourth scheduled for Brisbane in Q1 2014.
Navis inform that DP World Australia has reached a major milestone, completing Navis N4 terminal operating system (TOS) upgrades on three of four planned DP World sites. DP World Sydney, DP World Fremantle and, now, DP World Melbourne have concluded essential TOS implementations and are fully operational, forming the foundation needed for the company’s centralized and standardized technology approach for its terminals.
As container volumes continue to grow, further investments in technology by DP World Australia have become essential. With 19 systems running across its terminal network at any given time, DP World Australia needed to centralize and standardize its operating technologies in order to remain agile and responsive to evolving customer needs. With N4 running at three sites, and a planned implementation in Brisbane in early 2014, N4 provides critical support for port technology covering gates, kiosks and rail, and offers improved functionality and efficiency in vessel and yard planning.
To date, the N4 implementations have already yielded significant improvements in productivity and efficiency for DP World Australia. Once complete, Brisbane will be the first automated operation for DP World Australia.
