Donald L. Blount and Associates, Inc. (DLBA), a naval architecture and marine engineering company, announced that Gordon Hatchell has recently become the newest member of our firm. Robert Bartee, Vice President and C.O.O., states, "With 40 years of a broad array of managerial and technical experience with special projects for complex Navy combatant craft, Gordon will expand the competitive edge DLBA holds for the design of high-performance military craft."
DLBA’s project base consists of three components; 1) Custom designs for private clients, 2) Production boat/refit/yacht management, and 3) Military/commercial design and engineering. As the marine business climate is rising, Gordon has taken on the dual responsibilities for program management and business development of the third component of DLBA activity to increase the time available for current staff to pursue tasking for the first two business components.
Previously, Gordon Hatchell served as Supervisor and Program Manager for the Special Projects Branch, Combatant Craft Department of Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock, (NSWCCD). Gordon noted, "I’m merging my experiences from programs for developing special purpose craft meeting complex requirements with the advanced technology successes of DLBA. Together our expectations are that new maritime capabilities will be forthcoming."
