Art Anderson Associates informs it has been awarded a five year Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) for program and project management as well as other services supporting the Marine Engineering Branch for oceanographic and fisheries research ships and small vessels operated by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA) Office of Marine Operations (OMAO).

The agreement will allow NOAA to contract with Art Anderson Associates for integration and project management services including acquisition, program and mission management, technical writing, ship construction supervision services, post shakedown availability support and waterfront production oversight. The award is the second major BPA awarded to Art Anderson Associates this year from NOAA. In August Art Anderson Associates was awarded a BPA for Naval Architecture and Engineering Design Services for the Western Region Acquisition Division.

For more than 30 years, Art Anderson Associates has provided naval architecture and marine engineering services for hundreds of assignments in support of the NOAA fleet of federal research vessels. The group’s president and CEO, Ben Anderson, said, “This is a great contract vehicle to help support NOAA in areas outside of our standard naval architecture and marine engineering services.  Art Anderson Associates has a long history of providing our clients acquisition, program and mission support, and we’re honored to be able to now serve NOAA in this capacity.”

OMAO is responsible for the long range/short term program planning, logistic support, maintenance and operation of a fleet of specialized ships, small boats and aircraft to perform a wide variety of environmental and scientific missions. The two OMAO Marine Operations Center, located in Norfolk, Va. and Newport, Ore., and their Marine Operations Engineering groups provide the primary support for the NOAA ships and small boats which operate out of their homeports located along the east and west coasts, Gulf of Mexico, Alaska and Hawaii.
