Port Security Training Drills in Argentina

 The Naval Prefecture Argentina, following the guidelines of the Ministry of National Security, held this morning the annual exercise PEMADOCK (Plan Major Emergency Area Port Dock Sud) in order to achieve rapid and effective response to a potential loss of the extent that the activity proposed. 

 
The recreation consisted of a claim on the pier "B" dock of Inflammable, corresponding to Shell CAPSA 
 
The crack of a pipe was simulated following maintenance work on the spring, aggravating the box by an explosion, followed by fire and hydrocarbon spill. The scenario led to the launch of PEMADOCK. 
 
It was stressed staff and media station Salvage, Fire and Environmental Protection, deployed two fire engines and the Coast Guard GC-140 "Lake Yehuin". 
 
In addition, communications were made with different places with interference in the port area, and the Provincial Directorate of port Activities, the Municipality of Avellaneda, Civil Defense, Edesur SA, Argentina Red Cross, Institute Quemado, management areas of safety, quality and environment of enterprises authorities the petrochemical complex, etc. 
 
The origin of this exercise dates of the incident that occurred in June 1984 in the tanker Argentina flag "Perito Moreno", moored at the dock "G" dock Sud canal following which was created Plan Major Emergency and Support area Port Dock Sud. Its aim is to establish and determine, in real time, with what resources are available to an incident of this nature. 
 
Notably Prefecture, as Maritime Authority is the body implementation of the ISPS Code (International Ship and port Facility) set by the International Maritime Organization (IMO) to establish safety guidelines in ports.
