Huntington Ingalls Industries said its AMSEC LLC subsidiary won a task order under a previously awarded contract to provide engineering and technical services to support efforts to improve U.S. Navy shipboard technical data environments. The indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity, cost-plus-fixed-fee SeaPort Enhanced (SeaPort-e) task order contains a base period with two, one-year option periods which, if exercised, would bring the cumulative value of the contract to approximately $4.9m. SeaPort-e is the Navy's electronic platform for acquiring support services in 22 functional areas, including engineering, financial management and program management.
"We are excited to offer our continued support of AMSEC's information technology professionals to the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division (NSWCCD)," said Harris Leonard, HII vice president and president of AMSEC operations. "We have assembled a full-service team of highly-skilled specialists with strong U. S. Navy commercial best-practice expertise at a very reasonable cost."
The contract is to provide support of technical data logistics and delivery and computer engineering services and training to NSWCCD. The work will be performed in Newport News, VA. If all options are awarded, the work is expected to be completed by Aug. 2015.
"The objective of this effort is to improve the Navy's technical data logistics initiatives and the next generation of digital technical data delivery," said Phil Deuell, program manager for AMSEC's Data Delivery Solutions Programs. "We have an exceptional working relationship with our customer and will continue to provide them with state-of-the-art practical capabilities."
