Scania Expands IMO Tier III Engine Range
Engine manufacturer Scania announced it has added seven new IMO Tier III compliant marine engines to its existing portfolio as it strives to slash emissions and support more sustainable marine operations.The new DI13 solutions of 257 kW, 280 kW, 284 kW, 331 kW, 368 kW, 405 kW and 441 kW at the rated speed of 2,100 rpm widen the range of propulsion engines, in a commitment to further reduce NOx emissions.
Scania to Power MSRC's Oil Response Vessels
Engine manufacturer Scania on Thursday announced it has been selected by Marine Spill Response Corporation (MSRC) to power its new fleet of five 47-foot Skimmer oil response vessels, built by Rozema Boat Works. Powered by twin DI13 087M 700hp engines provided by Cascade Engine Center, the new vessels will be delivered in 2023.Formed in conjunction with the Marine Preservation Association in 1990 by oil and gas companies, MSRC is a not-for-profit organization with U.S.

Scania to Power Patriot's New CTV
Engine manufacturer Scania announced it has been selected by Patriot Offshore Maritime Services to power its new 27-meter aluminum crew transfer vessel (CTV), chartered by Vineyard Wind for support of the construction and management of its commercial offshore wind project. The CTV will be built by Gladding-Hearn Shipbuilding in Somerset, Mass. for mid-2023 delivery. Based on an Incat Crowther catamaran design, it will be capable of carrying up to 24 technicians and personnel.
Canada's New Oil Spill Response Boats Powered by Scania
Engine manufacturer Scania said it has been selected by the Western Canada Marine Response Corporation (WCMRC) to power four 52-foot oil spill response landing crafts.Currently in production by family-owned Burlington, Wash welded aluminum boat manufacturer the William E. Munson Company, the vessels are powered by twin keel-cooled 750 HP Scania DI13-liter 088M engines with Twin Disc 5095 marine gearboxes, supplied by distributor Cascade Engine Center.

Scania Powers New Twin City Liner Ferry
Twin City Liner is a 39m low wash, high-speed catamaran ferry for operation by Twin City Liner on the Danube River between Vienna and Bratislava. The vessel was built by Wight Shipyard, with local support from Incat Crowther Europe.Operating on the Danube takes many interesting design specifications, and to this end the ferry features a low draft of 0.8m, minimal wake / wash, low air draft and a hull form designed for restricted waters where high current and debris are encountered.
