MacGregor Completes Rapp Marine Acquisition
MacGregor, part of Cargotec, said it has completed its EUR 16 million ($19.8 million) acquisition of Rapp Marine Group (RMG) after first announcing the deal in December 2017.
Rapp Marine to Equip New OSU Research Vessel
Rapp Marine said it has been selected by Gulf Island Shipyard, LLC, as the Overboard Handling System Single Source Vendor (OHS SSV) for Oregon State University’s (OSU) 193 ft x 41 ft multi-mission Regional Class Research Vessel (RCRV), with the option of two additional vessels. Funding for the RCRV project is provided by the National Science Foundation (NSF), and the contract design of the RCRV was developed by Glosten.

Rapp Marine Equips Pelagic Fleet Trawlers
Rapp Marine has received two new orders for the supply of complete electrical deck machinery packages for the two pelagic trawlers, Rockall and Themis, announced Morten Stenkjær, VP Sales Fisheries Rapp Marine. Rapp Marine signed the contract in March 2016 with the shipbuilder Karstensens Skibsværft in Skagen, Denmark, for these two newbuildings. Astrid Fiskeri AS in Skagen owns Rockall, while Themis is owned by Themis Fiskeri AS in Thyborøn.

Rapp Marine Hires Vatnehol as CEO
Helge Vatnehol has been appointed Group CEO of Rapp Marine. Vatnehol comes from the position of Senior Vice President Offshore Deck Machinery in Rolls Royce and takes over on September 1, 2014. “The companies in the winch division of former Rapp Marine Group have been collected within Rapp Marine Group. We are delighted that Helge Vatnehol has accepted the challenge to lead the group,” said Board Chairman of Rapp Marine, Olav Fjell. Vatnehol joined Rolls-Royce in 2000.
