New Fireboat Delivered in Naples, Florida
North Collier Fire Control and Rescue District (NCFR) in Naples, Fla. has taken delivery of a newly built fireboat for fast fire and emergency response, including search and rescue.The 36-foot fireboat is an Ambar 1100 (AM 1100) multi-mission workboat from Silver Ships, based in Theodore, Ala. The vessel is custom-designed and -built for NCFR's daily operations along inland, intercoastal and gulf waters, said David Hunt, a the boatbuilder's business development team.
USACE Mobile District Adds New Survey Vessel
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile District and Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway Development Authority held a ceremony to officially welcome a new survey vessel to its fleet in Columbus, Miss., April 28, 2023.The Miss Agnes, built by Theodore, Ala. based Silver Ships, is a custom 26-foot multibeam and single beam capable marine survey vessel that features an enclosed center console, a three-monitor survey station, and an air conditioner unit that is paired with a generator.

Norwegian Police Order Five Patrol Boats from Marell
Swedish builder Marell Boats informs it has been awarded a new contract to supply five fast patrolling and interceptor vessels to the Norwegian Police. The five new M12 RIBs will be delivered during from the third quarter this year through the first quarter 2023, to five different locations in south of Norway.The medium-sized patrol boats will be used by the Norwegian Police for patrolling and assignments such as surveillance, search and rescue, boarding and control of recreational boats.

Mercury Marine Expands Manufacturing Capacity
Mercury Marine is adding a 53,000 square foot manufacturing capacity expansion to its global headquarters in Fond du Lac, Wisc. The expansion will consist of 45,000 square feet of manufacturing capacity and an additional 8,000 square feet of office space. Mercury Marine Begins HQ Expansion
Mercury Marine will add a 45,000 square foot expansion to its electro-deposition paint (EDP) system that will double its current processing capabilities. The current project will be complete by January 2016 and the new system will be operational by Q4, 2016. “We are developing a new state of the art coating system that gives our engines superior corrosion and warranty protection,” said John Pfeifer, Mercury Marine president.
Mercury Marine produces 75,000th Verado L6 Outboard
Milestone comes less than 10 years after launch of platform. Mercury Marine, the world leader in commercial and recreational marine propulsion and technology, has produced its 75,000th Verado L6 outboard engine. The Verado six-cylinder was first launched in 2005 and covered 200 to 275hp; the Verado family now includes up to 300hp outboard engines. Mercury Marine has manufactured more than 15 million engines since the company was founded in 1939.
