Liebherr Cranes Ordered in South Africa
Liebherr Africa announced the awarding of a contract for the supply of four STS and 18 RTG cranes to Transnet Port Terminals. The order will be fulfilled with the assistance of Liebherr Container Cranes in Ireland. In the last two years, Liebherr delivered nine mobile harbor cranes to Transnet, which brought their fleet to 13. In addition Liebherr Container Cranes Ltd. delivered two ship to shore container cranes to Ngqura Container Terminal in 2012.

Recent orders for Liebherr Mobile Harbor Cranes (LHM) from the Middle East include two LHMs and the first LiSIM LHM550 unit for the region, paving the way for state-of-the-art crane operator training. Liebherr Wins Significant Ship Crane Order
Liebherr reports that there has been a positive trend in the heavy lift crane segement, a sentiment confirmed by a number of significant contracts recorded of late, including a contract for the delivery of six heavy lift ship cranes for the German shipping company Rickmers. Four of the heavy lift cranes are type CBB 4700 with a lifting capacity of 450 tons and the remaining two are type CBB 3450 with a lifting capacity of 120 tons.
Liebherr Delivers Seven Straddle Carriers in Rotterdam
Liebherr Container Cranes has secured an order for the delivery of seven (7) straddle carriers to ECT Delta Terminal in Rotterdam. ECT has placed the order for the Liebherr SC340S. These machines will stack 1 over 2 high and are supplied with a 40 t Stinis single lift spreader. The straddle carriers will mainly operate in the landside interface zone, shuttling between the automatic stacking cranes and trucks.
Liebherr Grows New Zealand Market Share
A recent order from the Port of Lyttleton is the latest in a series of contracts that has seen Liebherr Container Cranes expand on an already significant presence in New Zealand’s North and South Islands, the company said. The Port of Lyttleton’s most recent order for a super post panamax ship to shore crane and four straddle carriers, will see the number of Liebherr straddle carriers in the Port of Lyttelton grow to eight and brings the total number of ship to shore cranes at the port to three.
Liebherr Delivers Heavy Lift Offshore Crane For “Vidar”
In June, components weighing up to 420 tonnes each for Liebherr’s new heavy lift offshore crane CAL 45000-1200 Litronic were loaded from Liebherr MCCtec Rostock GmbH onto two ships in the port of Rostock. These components were subsequently transported to the Crist shipyard in the Polish town of Gdynia. There, the crane is currently being assembled on the “Vidar”, an installation vessel belonging to Hochtief Solutions.

Overload test for Liebherr Heavy Lift Crane
Currently the support vessel Caballo Marango is being equipped with a Liebherr heavy lift crane, type BOS 35000, in the port of Rostock. The overload test has now been carried out and the offshore crane successfully lifted 1,100 t which is 110% of its maximum lifting capacity. The crane, offering a maximum boom length of 102 m, was built at the Liebherr plant in Rostock within the last eight months.
Liebherr Supply 1000th Mobile Harbour Crane
The 1000th Liebherr Mobile Harbour Crane has been delivered and erected at Montoir Bulk Terminal (MBT) France. The new LPS 550 is going to play a major role in MBT’s cargo handling chain in order to optimize bulk transport. Their new crane, type LPS 550, has a maximum lifting capacity of 75 tonnes in grab operation. It is the first LPS 550 worldwide. The crane was manufactured and pretested in Rostock before its delivery to the west coast of France.

Liebherr Container Cranes Ltd. install & commission two Rail Mounted Gantry Cranes (RMG) for Freightliner, Southampton Maritime Rail Terminal. Both Liebherr cranes were launched by Freightliner Ltd at a ceremony in Freightliner’s Southampton Marine Terminal. The cranes have been named Freightliner Fortis 15-10-2012 and Freightliner Agilitas 15-10-2012. The names represent strength, power, easy of movement and efficiency that the new cranes bring to Freightliner Ltd.’s operations at Southampton.

In early 2012, a state-of-the-art Liebherr Mobile Harbour Crane, type LHM 550, marked the 40th delivery to the North American market. Of these machines 32 were delivered to the United States and 8 to Canada. Since 2006 a stable upward trend has been evident, especially in the United States. Since 2006 more than 20 Liebherr Mobile Harbour Cranes are guarantying highly efficient cargo handling throughout North America.

First CAL 64000 heavy-lift offshore crane is ready for North Sea wind farm duty. The first CAL 64000-1500 Litronic®, a heavy lift offshore crane developed by Liebherr-Werk Nenzing GmbH, is now ready for operation. The crane is installed on the Innovation, a vessel belonging to HGO InfraSea Solutions, which installs offshore wind power stations in the North Sea wind park Global Tech I. With this new product Liebherr meets the increasing demand for high performing heavy lift.
Container Crane Maker Liebherr Gets DP World Melbourne Order
Ireland-based Liebherr to supply a ship-to-shore container crane to handle 'Post-Panamax' ships at DP World Melbourne. The crane has a waterside outreach of 50m a span of 25.3m and a landside backreach of 20m. The S.W.L. of the crane is 65 tonnes under twin lift spreader with a lift height of 38m under spreader. Hoist speeds are 70-180m/min, trolley speed is 240m/min and crane travel speed is 50 m/min. Crane drives are Liebherr A.C.
