Van Oord Orders Two Water Injection Dredgers
Dutch shipbuilder Kooiman Marine Group said it has secured a contract from Dutch dredging and marine services firm Van Oord to build two Water Injection Dredgers (WID) for delivery scheduled in the first half of 2024.The order follows the previous deliveries of the WIDs Maas and the Mersey delivered in mid-2021."The new vessels will have the same specifications, supplemented by innovative optimizations.
Kooiman Delivers Hybrid Water Injection Dredger Pair to Van Oord
A pair of custom designed and built Water Injection Dredgers (WID) dubbed Maas and Mersey were built at Kooiman Marine Group and christened earlier this week at the office of Van Oord in Rotterdam.The hybrid vessels were developed by Kooiman Engineering in cooperation with Van Oord. Two electrically driven pumps deliver water under high pressure, or with a lot of volume through the U-shaped water injection pipe located at the rear of the ship.
Kooiman Building Hegemann Dredging's New Hopper Dredge
The Netherlands-based shipbuilder Kooiman Marine Group is building a new trailing suction hopper dredger (TSHD) for German Detlef Hegemann Aktiengesellschaft. The 1,500-cubic-meter dredger is designed to execute multiple types of dredging activities at specific locations. Hegemann V is scheduled for delivery in July 2022.The Hegemann V was developed by Kooiman Engineering, part of Kooiman Marine Group, in close collaboration with Hegemann Dredging.

Kooiman to Build Patrol Vessels for Antwerp
Kooiman Marine Group has obtained a contract from the Port of Antwerp to design and build 2 aluminium patrol vessels. In ordering the hybrid enforcement vessels, the Port of Antwerp is emphasizing the port’s sustainability and safety ambitions. The innovative hybrid vessels were developed by Kooiman Engineering and will be built by Scheepswerf Gebr. Kooiman, both from Zwijndrecht.The vessel dimensions are LOA 25.0 m, beam 5.4 m, moulded depth 3.1 m and draught 1.36 m.
