IRClass Publishes Guidelines for Autonomous and Remotely Operated Vessels
Classification society Indian Register of Shipping (IRClass) has published Guidelines on Remotely Operated Vessels and Autonomous Surface Vessels, providing a broad framework and philosophy for stakeholders involved in design, construction and testing of such vessels with varying levels of autonomy.These Guidelines cover design philosophy, risk assessment, system requirements including cyber resilience, network architecture, data and software assurance.
IRClass Classes India's First LNG-FSRU
Ship classification society Indian Register of Shipping (IRClass) has classed India’s first LNG-FSRU.Built at Hyundai Shipyard in Ulsan, South Korea, the 180,000 cu.m, the Indian-flagged, is designed for continuous operations without the need for drydocking over a period of 20 years. The unit is assigned class notation for 20 years extended interval between successive dry-dockings and complies with the requirements of IRClass Rules and Indian Flag for this purpose.
IRClass Gets USCG Nod
Indian Register of Shipping (IRClass) has received authorization as a Recognized Organization from the U.S. flag administration, a recognition which delegates authority to IRClass to undertake statutory survey and certification services on US flag ships on behalf of the administration.IRClass has its presence in the US through its office in Houston for around a decade and aims to explore additional business opportunities in the region.
Kanagawa Dockyard Delivers Tug to Adani Vizhinjam Port
Kanagawa Dockyard Co. Ltd, Kobe, Japan delivered the tug, Dolphin No. 29 on August 19, 2020, the fourth, in a series of 13 tugs, built for Adani Group. The tug will be engaged in mooring and towing work for berthing and un-berthing at the Adani Vizhinjam Port and on the coast of India.The tow tug has a 55t BP capacity and is equipped with diesel propulsion engines totaling 4,400 PS and Z-drive propellers.
