Ecochlor Wins BWMS Contract with ATC

Ecochlor BWTS Receives USCG Type Approval
Ecochlor's patented BWTS has received USCG Type Approval. The Ecochlor BWTS uses a two-step process that includes filtration and treatment with chlorine dioxide (ClO2). It is completely effective on all aquatic invasive species regardless of water turbidity, salinity or temperature. “The Ecochlor BWTS works just as effectively as it did when first installed in a ship in 2004 without any fundamental changes," said Tom Perlich, President and Founder.

Minerva Selects Ecochlor BWTS for up to 30 Vessels
Ecochlor, Inc. informs it has signed an agreement with Minerva Marine, Inc. for the potential supply of ballast water treatment systems (BWTS) for up to 30 vessels under its management for installations in accordance to the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) implementation plan. The Ecochlor technology was selected for retrofit in Minerva’s managed bulkers and tankers varying in size from medium range (MR) to very large crude carriers (VLCC).
Ecochlor Submits USCG Type Approval Application
Ecochlor has announced it has filed an application with the USCG for Type Approval for their Ballast Water Treatment System (BWTS). Due to a far more stringent set of guidelines, type approval has only been granted to three other BWT Systems worldwide, none of which offer Ecochlor’s unique, patented ClO2 technology. Upon USCG approval, the Ecochlor BWTS will extend the range of options for shipowners beyond UV and electrochlorination technologies.
