DMC Inks Deal to Equip Chilean Navy Ships
Wärtsilä has awarded Damen Marine Components (DMC) a contract to provide steering equipment to two Landing Platform Docks (LPD) of the Chilean Navy being built at ASMAR. DMC is supplying a range of energy efficient equipment to the vessels, which will reduce fuel consumption and resultant emissions.The 110-m long Chilean Navy LPDs are being constructed for the Escotillón IV project at the state-owned Astilleros y Maestranzas de la Armada (ASMAR) shipyard.
C&C Marine to Build Four Damen Multi Cat Workboats
Belle Chasse, La. shipbuilder C&C Marine and Repair will build four new Damen Multi Cat 3013 workboats to be delivered over the course of 2023.The first two vessels will be delivered to Galveston, Texas based dredging contractor Callan Marine, and the second two vessels will be built on spec for sale or lease to the U.S. market.The Multi Cat 3013 design comes from the Netherlands-based shipbuilding conglomerate Damen Shipyards Group, which licenses its designs to U.S.

DMC to Equip Three New TSHDs
Damen Marine Components has won an order to supply three sets of steering and rudder systems for three dual-fueled trailing suction hopper dredgers (TSHDs) currently being built at Keppel Offshore & Marineās shipyard in Singapore for Van Oord.The vessels will be 138-meters in length and have a hopper capacity of 10,500 cubic meters. They will represent the very latest in sustainable, energy-efficient dredging and are due for delivery in 2021.
