Conrad Begins Building GLDD's New Multi-Cats
Conrad Shipyard said it has started building two Damen-designed Multi-Cat vessels scheduled to be delivered to Great Lakes Dredge & Dock Company (GLDD) in the third and fourth quarters of 2022. A steel cutting ceremony was held at Conrad's Morgan City, La. shipyard.The two identical vessels are being built under a licensing agreement with the Netherlands-based Damen Shipyards Group. Conrad Cuts Steel for GLDD's New Dump Scows
Conrad Shipyard held a steel cutting ceremony for for three new 7,100 cubic yard dump scow barges for Great Lakes Dredge & Dock Company, LLC (GLDD) at its shipyard in Morgan City, La.Dump scows are barges with a hopper type cargo carrying compartment and a split hull design to facilitate bottom dumps to discharge dredged material. Each of the three identical barges will measure 277’ by 63.5’ by 27.25’.
Conrad Lays Keel for Great Lakes' New Hopper Dredge
Conrad Shipyard hosted a keel laying ceremony for a new 6,500 cubic yard trailing suction hopper dredge it is building for Great Lakes Dredge & Dock Company (GLDD). Delivery is scheduled before the end of the first quarter of 2023.The dredge will feature two 800mm suction pipes and will be able to dredge at depths of up to 100 feet. The vessel has principal dimensions of approximately 346 feet in length, 69 feet in breadth and 23 feet in depth, and total installed horsepower of 16,500.

Biblia Orders New Dry Dock
Biblia, Inc., Marine Towing and Transportation has ordered a new dry dock to service its fleet tugs and barges.The 500-ton lift capacity floating dry dock was designed by JMS Naval Architects and is currently being built by Conrad Shipyard in Morgan City, La. The new dry dock, which will replace Biblia’s existing dry dock in Savannah, Ga., is 120’ long, 60’ wide, has a 6’ deep pontoon, and 14’ tall wing walls.
