Ampol Completes Oil Recovery Equipment Testing
Oil Stop Division of American Pollution Control Corp. (AMPOL) completed phase two of its contract with the US Coast Guard Research and Development Center for the testing of Submerged Oil Recovery Equipment. The contract was completed in November after successfully executing a variety of tests at the OHMSETT facility in Leonardo, New Jersey. The OHMSETT facility allows industry professionals to work with real oil in simulated environments.
Ampol Completes Unique Skimmer Vessels
American Pollution Control Corp. (AMPOL), completed the acquisition and reconstruction of a newly restored shallow water skimmer vessel. Unique in its design and engineering, the vessel was altered to incorporate a dual outboard system and an independent hydraulic engine to a belt driven hydraulic system. Vessel construction began with the hull. Subsequently, a conveyer assembly, hydraulic system and an outboard engine system were added to the skimmer.
AMPOL Completes Downed Platform Project
American Pollution Control Corp. (AMPOL), a leading oil spill response and total environmental solutions provider, has completed a platform recovery project in Amelia, La., announced CEO Kirk Headley. From planning to implementation, the total project took approximately five years and included lifting the platform and remediating hydrocarbons and hydrogen sulfide on the recovered platform that had been trapped beneath 100 feet of mud.
Ampol Performs Cleanup on Platform Recovery Project
American Pollution Control Corp. (AMPOL), a leading oil spill response and total environmental solutions provider, has completed the oil spill recovery and environmental cleanup on a recovered platform in Terrebonne Parish. Located offshore then transported to Dulac, La., the once downed platform had to be modified in the air and positioned on a barge to fit under a bridge leading to the recycling facility.
