Alfa Laval PureBallast 3 Ultra is the latest ballast water management system (BWMS) built on proven PureBallast 3 technology. The system brings new advantages to the market’s most efficient UV treatment solution, from enhanced performance in challenging waters to further power savings and simpler installation. Alfa Laval PureBallast 3 Approved by USCG
Alfa Laval PureBallast 3, the third generation of manufacturer Alfa Laval’s ballast water treatment technology, has received an updated type approval from the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG).Alfa Laval PureBallast 3 was awarded an updated certificate from the USCG on April 4, granting the system type approval with zero-day holding time in all water salinities. PureBallast 3 owners in U.S. waters now have the option of discharging ballast water just 2.5 hours after taking it on.
Chinese Shipping Company Opts for Scrubbers
Alfa Laval announced Wednesday that it has received an order from an unnnamed Chinese shipping company to supply its PureSOx scrubber systems for exhaust gas cleaning for 31 vessels in its fleet.The PureSOx systems for 31 existing vessels, which are among the largest vessels in the world, represent orders booked in 2018 and deliveries extending from early 2019 through the end of the year, Alfa Laval said. Each scrubber will handle exhaust gas from one main engine and three auxiliary engines.
