A government document seen by revealed that Uganda is looking to connect a new rail line it's building with one being built in Tanzania. This could potentially open up a 'new export route for minerals like iron ore, gold and copper. Uganda exports most of its goods via the Kenyan port in Mombasa.

Cobalt stock prices on China's Wuxi Exchange plummeted late in January. Traders attribute the fall to shortages of the material used in electric vehicle batteries in the world's largest consumer. On 'January 29th,'?cobalt, or 37%, was removed from the stock exchange.
