Authorities and a tanker operator reported that two large oil tanks caught fire after colliding on Friday near Singapore, which is the world's largest refuelling station. Two crew members were airlifted from the scene to the hospital, while others were rescued using life rafts.

LSEG data and traders' reports on Thursday showed that China and Saudi Arabia were top destinations for Russian seaborne VGO and fuel oil exports. According to calculations based upon LSEG data, the total fuel oil and VGO exported from Russian ports rose 2% in August to 4.2 million metric tonnes.

QatarEnergy announced on Monday that it had signed a contract with China State Shipbuilding Corporation for the purchase of six ultra-large vessels to transport liquefied gas. This brings its total number of such vessels on order up to 128.

Malaysia's Coast Guard said on Saturday one of two large oil tanks involved in an accident that resulted in fires on both vessels had left the scene of the accident. It was also believed that the tracking system of that tanker had been turned off.
