Zelenskiy, Ukraine's Zelenskiy, says that the Black Sea and energy ceasefire is effective immediately
Volodymyr Zelenskiy, the Ukrainian president, said that the truce over the Black Sea and the energy infrastructure took effect immediately on Tuesday. He also stated that if Moscow violated the agreements he would ask Donald Trump for more weapons and sanctions against Russia.
The United States announced earlier that it had signed separate agreements with Kyiv, and Moscow in order to ensure the safety of navigation in the Black Sea as well as to ban strikes on energy facilities in both countries.
"If they violate this, I have a question directly for President Trump." Zelenskiy said at a Kyiv news conference that if they violated, "here is the proof - we request sanctions, weapons, etc." Reporting by Anastasiia Mlenko in Kyiv, and Yuliia Dsya in Gdansk.
