Ukraine reports three injured in the overnight Russian attack on Mykolaiv
Ukraine's officials reported that three women were injured, and several fires started in the aftermath of a Russian air strike on Mykolaiv, a region located in southern Ukraine.
Vitaly Kim, the governor of Mykolaiv, posted on Telegram that the attack, which occurred a day after at least 19 people were killed, including nine kids, in attacks on the city Kryvyi RIh, also caused damage to several houses.
Ukraine's State Emergency Service reported that one woman was hospitalized, while the other two women were treated as outpatients. The State Emergency Service of Ukraine posted pictures and videos showing firefighters fighting flames at night in a home.
No immediate comment was made by Russia. Both sides deny that civilians were targeted in the war, which Russia began with an invasion of its smaller neighbor three years ago. In the conflict, thousands of civilians died. The vast majority were Ukrainian.
Donald Trump, the U.S. president, who was elected in January and promised to end the war within 24 hours, has tried to mediate a resolution to the conflict. Last week, the U.S. announced that it had reached two ceasefire agreements with Russia and Ukraine. One of them would stop attacks on each other's infrastructure.
