The data from the Agriculture Ministry showed that by the 7th of June 2023, Ukraine's grain sales in the July-June 2023/24 marketing season were up to 47.7 millions metric tons. This was up from 46 million tons at the same time in 2023.

Data showed that the total has reached 802,000 tonnes since the beginning of June.

Exports totaled 17.7 millions tons of wheat, 27.1 million tons corn and 2.4 million tonnes of barley.

Ukraine exports approximately 95% of grain via its Black Sea port.

The government reported that the country harvested around 81 millions tons of grains and oilseeds during this season. This would translate to a 50 million-ton exportable surplus in 2023/24.

According to the ministry, in 2024, the combined grain and oilseeds crop could be 74 million tonnes. This includes 52.4 millions tons of grain.

The Ministry of Economy has predicted that the country will produce 73 million tonnes of grain and oilseeds in 2024. (Reporting and editing by Jason Neely; reporting by Pavel Polityuk)
