UKMTO's Captain reports that five missiles have landed in the Red Sea.
The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations monitor reported on Friday that a ship's Captain reported five missiles landed near his vessel in Red Sea 150 nautical miles (172 mile) northwest of Hodeidah port, Yemen.
UKMTO reported that the ship was not damaged and heading north. The UKMTO did not provide any information about the ship or its cargo.
Since November, Houthi militants based in Yemen have launched attacks on the region.
Since then, many vessels have chosen to bypass the Red Sea route and instead take the longer journey around southern Africa.
The Houthis, who are aligned with Iran, claim that the attacks were in solidarity with Palestinians during the conflict between Israel and Hamas (a militant Islamist group in Gaza)
