A vessel reported a minor explosion near it after a collision with an uncrewed ship 57 nautical mile south of Yemen's Aden port, the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations said on Thursday.

The ship and crew were in good health and the vessel was moving to its next destination.

UKMTO reported that the captain of a cargo ship off the coast Aden reported five explosions. The vessel was later identified as the SWNorth Wind I.

Since November, Houthi militants with an Iranian affiliation have attacked international shipping near Yemen in solidarity with Palestinians fighting Israel and Hamas. (Reporting and editing by Jason Neely, Alex Richardson, and Ahmed Elimam)
