Tunisia purchases approximately 125,000 metric tonnes barley at tender, traders claim
European traders reported that Tunisia's state grain agency purchased approximately 125,000 metric tonnes of animal feed barley at an international auction on Tuesday.
Barley was bought for the lowest price, $231.60 per ton with freight included (c&f), from Dreyfus and Dreyfus.
The reports reflect the opinions of traders, and it is still possible to estimate prices and volume later.
The grain can come from a variety of origins. It is required in five consignments ranging between 25,000 and 50,000 tons, depending on the origin chosen.
The World Bank is providing the financing for this tender, as it is one of the organizations that helps Tunisia with its financial problems. Reporting by Michael Hogan & Gus Trompiz
