A group of importers in Thailand purchased approximately 146,000 metric tonnes of animal feed wheat from optional origins during a Wednesday-closed tender, European traders reported on Thursday.

According to reports, the purchase involved two consignments of 73,000 tons each bought for $263.95 per ton. Trading house The Andersons is believed to have been the seller.

The shipment was expected to take place in the second and first halves of October.

The Ukraine, the European Union, Serbia and Australia are all likely origins. Ukrainian seaports do not allow ships to be loaded.

Last week, an importer group from Thailand purchased approximately 120,000 tons animal feed wheat that was expected to come from the Black Sea Region at a price of $259.95 per ton c&f liners out.

The reports reflect the assessments of traders, and it is still possible to estimate prices and volume later. Michael Hogan is reporting.
