TotalEnergies will operate two Danish offshore wind farms

TotalEnergies announced on Friday that it had completed the planned purchase of a majority stake in two offshore wind project in Denmark which recently received construction permits.

The French energy company now owns an 85% stake in a 240 megawatt (MW), offshore wind park located in the Bay of Jammerland, and a 72.2 % stake in a 165 MW offshore wind farm called Lillebaelt Syd.

European Energy and SONFOR retain a minor ownership stake in Lillebaelt Syd. European Energy continues to be a minor owner of the offshore park in the Bay of Jammerland.

Martin Rune Pedersen said, "Today, we have reached a landmark for TotalEnergies as we now take on the role of majority owner and operator for two important offshore wind project in Denmark."

By 2029, the two offshore wind farms are expected to generate enough electricity for around 400.000 European homes. (Reporting and editing by Terje Slovsvik, Isabelle Yr Carlsson)
