LONDON, November 26 - TotalEnergies halted the development of a new wind farm near the coast of New York following Donald Trump's U.S. presidential election win, said the CEO of the French company on Tuesday.
In October 2023, the French energy group created a joint-venture for the development of the Attentive Offshore Wind Project off the coasts of New York.
Patrick Pouyanne, speaking at the Energy Intelligence Forum, said that he had decided to put offshore wind on hold because the projects were all in Democratic states. "We'll see better results in four years", he added.
The advantage of only having to pay for four years is a big plus.
Total holds 56% of Attentive Energy, while Corio Generation & Rise Light & Power each hold 27,7% & 16.3% respectively.
