Three Swiss NGO offices in Kharkiv were damaged by Russian attacks, Ukraine reports
Local officials reported that on Wednesday, Russia launched a number of attacks against the city of Kharkiv in northeastern Ukraine and its surrounding area, killing at least three people and wounding six others. The office of an NGO for mine clearance from Switzerland was also damaged.
Since Moscow's full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, the city of Kiev and its surrounding region bordering Russia have been subjected to drone, missile, and guided-bomb strikes.
Three people were killed and six injured in a strike that hit the town of Lozova south of Kharkiv. Rescue operations continued into the evening.
Oleh Simiehubov said that an overnight strike had destroyed the facade and ceilings of the Fondation Suisse de Deminage office.
He said six cars belonging to the group's medics had been damaged. He also stressed the importance of demining efforts in his area, which is one of the most heavily strewn areas with landmines, as well as other potentially dangerous war debris.
Ihor Terekhov, the mayor of Moscow, said that five different attacks have been carried out on the city following Russia's attack overnight.
He said that the latest attack was on an industrial area, and six people were injured. The police said that this attack caused damage to vehicles and unspecified infrastructure.
Syniehubov reported that new strikes occurred late in the evening, and local media reported explosions near the city after midnight. However, there was no report of casualties or damages.
