The Russian defence ministry reports that a Russian frigate is conducting drills in the Atlantic.
The Russian Admiral Gorshkov Navy frigate, which sailed from Russia to Cuba in early June, conducted drills on the Atlantic Ocean using a helicopter in search of submarines. This was announced by the Ministry of Defence on Tuesday.
In a Telegram message, the Ministry said that the crew "practiced tactical techniques" for searching and tracking subs in the Atlantic Ocean.
The ministry said that the pilots searched for submarines at a distance greater than 50 kilometers (31 miles).
Five landings on the deck of the ship were carried out.
On June 12, the Admiral Gorshkov and Kazan nuclear submarines arrived in Havana after a "high precision missile weapons" training exercise conducted in the Atlantic Ocean. (Reporting and editing by Himani Sarkar in Melbourne)
