The Royal Navy of the UK has confirmed that one person was killed when a helicopter ditched into English Channel

The Royal Navy of Britain announced on Thursday that one person was killed after a helicopter forced to ditch in the Channel during an exercise.

The Navy released a statement saying that a Royal Navy member died after a training accident last night.

"A complete investigation will be conducted." A Merlin Mk4 helicopter ditched in the English Channel, near Dorset, while performing night flying exercises alongside HMS Queen Elizabeth. No other deaths or serious injuries were reported."

Keir starmer, the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, expressed his sadness at the death. He also paid tribute to the people who were involved in the search.

He posted on X, "My thoughts are for the family and loved one during this difficult time."
