The rowing brothers of Croatia are hoping to win a fourth Olympic gold medal in Paris
The Croatian brothers Valent and Martin Sinkovic prepare for the Paris Olympics by rowing on the crystal-clear waters of Peruca Lake. They hope to win their fourth medal.
Valent, 35, and Martin 34, won silver in London, 2012, in the quad. They also won gold at Rio Olympics 2016 in the double-sculls and gold in Tokyo, 2020, when they switched to sweep rowing.
This is our fourth Olympic Games, and we have won three Olympic Medals to date. Martin Sinkovic stated that this will be the most difficult Olympics we have ever experienced.
"We expect to compete for the gold medal in the men's pairs."
Croatian rowers are well-known for their sport and have even won medals in the former Yugoslavia team, to which they belonged before declaring their independence in 1991.
The Sinkovic brothers, who lived in Zagreb, moved to Sinj last month to be closer to Peruca Lake. This lake is a popular camping, fishing, and rowing destination.
Our biggest motivation is our love for the sport. Valent Sinkovic stated that they still enjoy rowing and train hard. (Reporting and editing by Miral Fakhmy; Ivana Skularac)
