The Olympic Dinghy Medal Races have been rescheduled to Wednesday due to the wind.

Officials decided that there wasn't enough wind to allow the men's or women's Olympic medal races to go ahead. After sailors in both events waited hours to stabilize the breeze, officials finally determined it was too light to continue.

Marit Bouwmeester from the Netherlands and Anne-Marie Rindom from Denmark had effectively won gold and silver medals in the women’s event on Monday. Only the bronze was left to decide.

The men's race in the dinghy will see Australian Matt Wearn take on Cypriot PavlosKontides for an Olympic gold medal.

Wearn (28), who has the lowest score of the entire series, is the leader going into the medal race with double points. Kontides (34) is the only other sailor from the 10 boat fleet that can beat him. The scoring system in sailing is based on low points. Reporting by Alexander Smith, Editing by Ed Osmond
