Texas Pilots suspend some operations in and around ports due to winter storm
Texas pilots who help move vessels around ports suspended some operations Monday due to the frigid temperatures that hit the state.
According to an agent, the Brazos Santiago Pilots had been scheduled to stop ship movements on Monday just before midnight as conditions offshore worsened.
According to the notice, Lake Charles Pilots has suspended all service in advance of the storm. They will be reviewing possible movements on Thursday afternoon.
According to the National Weather Service a winter storm warning will be in place from Monday night until Tuesday night for parts of the U.S. Gulf Coast. As much as four to six inches of snow is expected around the Houston region.
