Taiwan bids on approximately 100,000 T of wheat from the U.S.
European traders reported on Monday that the Taiwan Flour Millers' Association had issued an international bid to buy an estimated 100,000 metric tonnes of grade 1 milling grain to be sourced in the United States.
The deadline for submitting price offers is the 27th of March.
The bidders are looking for a variety of wheat types, in two consignments each of 50,000 tonnes to be shipped from the U.S. Pacific Northwest Coast.
The traders stated that they were looking for a consignment to be shipped between May 24th and June 7th, and another shipment for June 16th and June 30th.
The types of wheat sought are dark northern spring, red winter and white soft wheat.
The Association's tenders provide a good indication of the U.S. export price for wheat in Asian markets. (Reporting and editing by Michael Hogan)
