Posted to Maritime Reporter on October 30, 2024

European traders reported on Wednesday that the state-backed Agro Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation of South Korea has launched an international tender for an estimated 101,000 tons of rice.

The deadline to submit price offers is November 7.

Around 40,000 tonnes of non-glutinous medium and long grain milled rice should be imported from the United States.

Vietnam should supply another 30,000 tons non-glutinous Brewers' Milled Rice Grade and Thailand 6,000 tons different grades. The remainder is to come from alternative origins.

They said that a number of consignments with varying sizes are expected to arrive in South Korea between February 15 and December 15, 2025. (Reporting and editing by Jason Neely; Michael Hogan)
