Sailing-Britain wins first race in America's Cup final
The America's Cup Final saw Britain earn its first point for the series by winning the race against New Zealand on Wednesday.
New Zealand, the current holders, now leads 4-1. A second race is scheduled to take place later on Wednesday in the Mediterranean near Barcelona.
In the final seconds before crossing, the British skipper Ben Ainslie was able to beat the New Zealand skipper Peter Burling and his team.
The Kiwis' AC75 slipped off its foils while the British managed to foil at pace. The British crossed the starting line, leaving New Zealand behind them and disappeared up the race course.
The British needed to sail cleanly in order to capitalize on the early lead.
