Russia conducts naval drills in the White Sea
The Russian Defence Ministry reported that Russian warships had conducted routine combat training in the White Sea, involving a convoy of ships and defending them.
Two small anti-submarine vessels, the Onega, and the Naryan Mar, practiced the organisation of combat use of weapons and radio electronic warfare equipment during the drills.
The defence ministry said that the day before, small anti-submarine vessels Onega and Naryan Mar conducted training and combat missions in order to repel an aerial attack from a conditional opponent.
The agency said that the warships were firing at simulated targets with anti-aircraft cannons and missile systems while training for air defence. Susan Fenton, Editor and Reporter.
