Poland keeps ambitious climate strategy, isn't breaking election promise, authorities says

Poland is not giving up its climate ambitions, a top official said on Wednesday, after the federal government submitted an environment and energy strategy to the European Commission with a green energy target disappointing a. preelection promise.

Civic Union, the biggest grouping in the ruling camp,. ran in the Oct. 15 election vowing it would look for to achieve. in between 65% and 70% of power production from renewable resource. sources by 2030.

The National Energy and Climate Strategy dated Feb. 29 that. Warsaw sent to Brussels consists of a target of 50% share of. sustainable power in the electrical power mix by the end of the years.
