TAIWAN TAKES OVER BOXING FEDDERATION
The Taiwanese Sports Administration (TSA) protested against Tuesday's International Boxing Association’s (IBA’s) position on the gender dispute that involved one of their fighters during the Paris Games. It said its Olympic Committee was contemplating filing a suit.
In a chaotic news conference on Monday, the IBA announced that Lin Yuting was disqualified for the 2023 world championships due to a failed sex-chromosome testing.
Imane Khilif, another boxer in dispute over gender equality, will fight in a women's category 66 kg semi-final on Tuesday.
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) said that it would like to include boxing in the Los Angeles Games of 2028, but must first see a global governing body created for the sport.
River Woes
International federation announced that the marathon swim familiarisation session planned for the Seine river on Tuesday has been cancelled due to water pollution.
The Seine will be the venue for the 10km Marathon races that are scheduled to take place on Friday and Thursday. However, the pollution levels in the water could decide the outcome.
